Fish Tail & Papaya Soup

Helpful hint: According to chinese records, the sap from the papaya and protein from the fish enriches the milk glands. Thus, drinking this soup will help to fill up your natural milk reservoir!

Ingredients

  • 1kg Threadfin Tail or fish meat
  • 100g raw peanuts
  • 1 raw or half-ripe papaya (cut into cubes/wedges)
  • 1 piece tangerine peel
  • 2 slices old ginger
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1.5 litres boiling water
Method
  1. Soak peanuts in water overnight. Drain before use.
  2. Skin & halve papaya. Remove seeds, rinse and cut into big wedges.
  3. Heat oil & fry ginger slices, then fry fish in oil until brown.
  4. Put all ingredients into a slow cooker and simmer for about 2 to 3 hours. Taste & add seasoning if preferred.
  5. Serve soup & cooked ingredients separately.
